First week of uni has ended

What are my thoughts?

University life is great. It really teaches me to be more of an independent learner (and not rely on spoon feeding by lecturers) because if I enter a class unprepared, I might be lost when the lecturer is teaching as they go in a fast (and sometimes boring) pace which I need to get used to.

At least there is internet access in the campus, so I could do online assignments in the uni while waiting for the next class to begin. Though it was really confusing at first for me on trying to access the wifi.

Though I realise two problems that I face in this uni. One of those would be finding a parking spot for my car. Some of my classes begins in the afternoon, and finding a parking spot is more like a test of luck than patience as it's full by the time I arrive for my afternoon lecture. All I do is pray that I'm following a student who is going to get to his/her car and go home/elsewhere. So parking spots are very limited if you come late.

But another big problem I have is the timetable I have. I was told in my orientation week that we were given 'freedom' to plan how our timetable for our lectures will be. Unfortunately, some of the lecture times were fixed already. My initial plans of getting a timetable where there would be weekday of did not happen as the fixed lecture times covered the whole weekday.

Not only that, my timetable gets really intense on Thursday and Friday. The thing with my timetable is that I spend progressively more hours attending lab and lectures in the campus as the weekday passes. For example, I have 2 hours of lecture on Monday, 3 hours on Tuesday, 4 on Wednesday, 6 on Thursday and 7 hours of lecture on Friday.

So you might be thinking, 2 classes on Monday, isn't it suppose to be a good thing as you can start your week slow? Well, its not for me. I would prefer a balanced timetable where the number of hours spent is equally split each day. But other than the timetable, I do not have any problems with my uni at the moment.

And that concludes my first week of university life. It's pretty nice overall except on Thursday and Friday where I come home really feeling like taking my sleep immediately. But I guess these are the things where you have to get used to as go from a college student to a uni freshman.
