Awesome fighting game stuff that happened less than 2 days of my 3rd Strike post

Yeah, if you can't tell by the title, then let me explain. Since I posted about how I can't beat Gill in 3rd Strike, 3 fighting game related stuff happened in just a span of less than 24 hours. It's not worldwide events or whatever, maybe more of a personal kind of thing. Anyways, lets get down to the stuff that happened.

1. I defeated Gill for the first time in 3rd Strike
Yeah, for some of you its no biggie, but for me it is, even on default difficulty. You see, I did it on my second try, and by second try I mean going to Stage 1 to Final Stage all over again to face him and beat him, not by continuing over and over and over again since he's difficulty will get easier for each continue.
I can say I was lucky. First round, I loss, and I was like 'Well shit! He has an almost full meter in Round 2!' And guess what? Seraph Wing at the beginning. But I was somehow able to defeat him. And then Final Round. Both of us were below 50% but he has a full meter. I really don't want him to use resurrection. Fortunately, he used the meteor-like super and that made him lose.
That was the only time I beat Gill. I tried to fight him 2 more times later, I lost. But I'm not gonna give up. I'm gonna make sure I can consistently beat him.

2. There is still a fighting game community in Malaysia, and I met some of those guys
Yeah, I didn't know that until a few months ago actually. I went to one of the malls in Penang, a pretty rundown one if you look at it from the outside. So being me, the first thing I do whenever I go into a mall is to check whether there is an arcade in there. And arcades are usually in the highest floor, so that's the best place to go.
So there was an arcade there, a pretty awesome one. Full of Tekken and Street Fighter machines. And the guys there pretty skilled.
Then I went home. On one day I got bored, so I use Google to check is there a fighting game community in Malaysia. Turns out, there is one (duh). And there's a group of people who plays fighting games in a little area behind the anime/manga shop of one of the malls I go to once in a while. And I was like 'Holy crap! I've been into the anime store for so long and I did not realise that the door there actually leads to a place where fighting gamers hang out!'
I went there yesterday, and the internet didn't lie. There were 8 guys taking turns playing UMVC3. I was quite amazed and happy. I managed to chat with them, and being a fighting game fan/player, I know my stuff. And they know theirs too. Unfortunately, as much as I wanna try UMVC3 I can't. I've never played it before, and if I were to fight them I'll get my ass whopped before I even learn anything, so I declined. But I will play it someday.
It's good to know that some people play Marvel around here.

3. The Street Fighter IV arcade machine in another mall that I go to once in a while got upgraded to Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Ver2012.
The titles just get longer and longer. So, there's this mall that I don't go to often, but when I do, I go to their arcades. Their arcades are quite extensive for fighting games, from Virtua Fighter 4, Tekken 6, TTT2, MvC2, 3rd Strike, and previously Street Fighter IV.
I went there today, and I noticed the SFIV cabinets looked a bit different. Then I saw the opening animation. It looked like the SSFIV opening. I put my coins in, 'SSFIVAE2012' appeared, and I was so damn ecstatic.
The arcade doesn't have the BP card system like in Japan, but what they have is an option to chose arcade or beginner mode. Arcade mode is the usual arcade stuff. Beginner mode is when other players can't challenge you until you reach stage 4, that's the difference between the 2 modes.
I felt the difficulty got toned down a little. Or maybe Seth is just much harder in SFIV. Or maybe the difficulty setting in the arcade cabinet was lowered. Either way, I beat the arcade with Zangief twice - once on each booth, just to check how good the controls were, and they were fine.

So yeah, 3 fighting game related stuff that happened within 2 days.

But for now, I have to focus on my uni stuff.
