So there was this thing called C&S week this week, where a number of clubs would set up their booth and convince people to join their club.
There was a few clubs that I wanted to join, notably the uni's Anime/Manga Club, Debate Club, and Toastmasters Club. Unfortunately I didn't join the Anime nor the Toastmasters Club for the same reason - timing issues. The meeting time for the clubs are 6-7pm on Wednesday and 6.30-7.30 on Tuesday respectively, and my class ends early for these 2 days. I would not want to wait 5-6 hours for a meeting, so I'll pass for this semester.
As for the Debate Club, I didn't join it because of a bad first impression they give. While most clubs decorate their booths quite nicely, the Debate Club's booth wasn't all that impressive (unless you count using internet memes as a creative idea). Also, they were hardly people waiting for registration in their booth. And even if there is, they don't look enthusiastic or full of spirit. Needless to say, I did not register for it at all.
I wasn't thinking of joining any club, until I saw the Comics Club. When I saw it at first I was like 'Hmmm... A comic club'. After my first class and I returned to their booth, a new poster was up saying 'Comic/PS3 Club', and that caught my interest. Then another poster stated that their weekly activities are 'Playing PS3, Reading Comics and Eating Pizza', and I was like 'Wow that seems fun'. And then the final poster mentioned that some of the PS3 games they will play are Call of Duty, FIFA, Street Fighter X Tekken and Marvel Vs Capcom 3, and I was sold.
Seeing 2 fighting games in their list of PS3 titles that they play and I signed up immediately. Unfortunately, the meeting time of their activities are not confirmed yet. Hopefully it will be on a Thursday or a Friday as I end late on those 2 days. And if this do happen, I'll get to play MVC3. Yeah, I don't own a PS3 nor a 360, so I really look forward to playing it since I've never played it before and I really want to try it.
Long Live Fighting Games!
