The Ace Attorney series, and I watched the Ace Attorney movie

I actually got into the series last year. Initially I wasn't that interested in the Ace Attorney series, but in the end I got interested thanks to another series for the DS and a crossover game starring the main characters of both series.

Yes, I'm talking about the Professor Layton series. I love the PL series because I like puzzles, and solving puzzles. While doing Sudoku is fine by me, I always like to find different types of puzzles to do, and PL has plenty of them.

So when I heard they were going to have a crossover with the Ace Attorney series, I was excited. But I didn't know anything about the Ace Attorney games. So, I tried it out.

And I was hooked.

It was really enjoyable. While the point and click part was okay, and the dialogues have plenty of pop culture references, the best part of the game was what happens in the courtroom. The things that happen in there were so interesting that I wish real life court processions were like that.

Anyways, because of that, I look forward to play as Phoenix Wright when I do play Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. And now I look forward to both PL VS AA and Ace Attorney 5.

But before all that, I watched the Ace Attorney movie.

As a movie based on a video game, the show doesn't suck, which is good since most movies based on video games are shit. While is nice to see all the movie references they made, people who played the first game would have a rough idea on what is going to happen. Meaning, if you played the game, you're instantly spoiled on the events of the movie.

Even though the plot of the movie is slightly different from the game since they had to squeeze cases 1 - 4 in one movie and try to combine case 1-2 and 1-4 together, people who played the game before will know what is going to happen. But I think that's alright. I mean, at least they stick to the actual plot.

Some of the characters are portrayed well in the movie. Some, however, not so. Like Maya Fey. I mean, like other than the fact that she's not a childish 18 year old, how the hell does she know how to play a piano?! I don't think her piano playing skills are even mentioned in the game. Also, Gumshoe doesn't seem like the bumbling lovable fool he is in the game. And Redd White doesn't even look like is video game counterpart.

I think the best characters in the movie were Wright and Larry Butz, mostly Larry Butz. I think Wright was portrayed better than some of the characters in the movie, but Larry Butz has the best portrayal. I always smile when I see him on the screen because I think this is how a real life Larry Butz would actually act. Needless to say, while he isn't my favourite character in the game, he is in the movie.
\
Anyways, my history with this series is rather short, and I don't have much to say about it. So I guess that's it for now.

The truth of how the next few days will be like on Facebook.

Over the past few days and the next few days till new years day we will experience the most typical of posts on Facebook by some of our friends, strangers, and even family. I find it pretty annoying and amusing. Annoying because we'll be seeing a lot of it at one shot for a day. Amusing because you wouldn't believe how many people you know will post the exact same thing as another person you know.

So, the day before yesterday, on the 19th December, I'm pretty sure you see a lot of 'We should watch the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" since the day after tomorrow is 21/12/2012'. I got a lot of those. To me, I think it's a pretty good idea to actually watch the movie, and not just post it and not watch it. The movie is actually a great teaching tool in my opinion. It shows you the potential disaster that could happen, and maybe teach a thing or two on how to solve the main problem the earth is facing at the moment - global warming.

Moving on to yesterday, or 20th December, we see a lot of 'Happy 20122012' or even a suggestion to watch the movie '2012'. I find people who find 20122012 to be a special day pretty dumb. I mean, every day is special in some way, and we're the only people who will be alive on 5th May 2012 or some random date right? So what so special about that? It's just that people in the future can't live with us unless they have a time machine or something. I really wanted to watch '2012' yesterday, I just don't have the DVD for the movie in my house, so I went on and beat Street Fighter X Mega Man.

Then today, 21/12/2012. Seeing posts right now like 'Woke up, still alive!' and 'We're survivors!!'. It's just idiotic. If the world DID end today, it wouldn't be at 4 a.m. in the morning would it? The time for doomsday to come is not stated in terms of what time it is, just the date. Not that I think the world would end today, that's just the equivalent of giving up in life. Also, I dunno about you, but I just find it weird that people DO believe in the 'world is gonna end today' shit. But I hope that they will not be any more 21/12/2012 posts. We now travel a few days later to....

24th and 25th December, Xmas eve and Xmas day itself. Aside from the festive greetings (which I don't find annoying at all), I'm sure there's gonna be people out there (most notably kids or immature people) who isn't satisfied by the Xmas present their parents bought for them. It's just things like these that made you think 'How could a child behave like that?' and even 'How could the parents let the child treat them like that?'. The thing is, parents do need to give their child tough love every once in a while, or the child will become a spoiled brat. Russell Peters (a really famous comedian) was right, parents should beat their kids (of course he meant physically punishing them like caning, not just sending them to their room).

And then, 31/12/2012 arrives and people will be celebrating the new years eve. I think this day isn't the worse among all the days. If you're lucky, someone may just post something about recapping the events of this year, which I find rather informative if someone were to do so. Finally, it's 1/1/2013 and the whole internet is flooded with 'Happy New Year' posts everywhere. People will also be posting about their new years resolution. Another not so annoying day I think.

Anyways, I wouldn't be doing some sort of obligatory 'Merry Xmas' or even a 'Happy New Year' post since I don't find any of the days significant other than the fact that you give/get gifts on Xmas and a new year begins on 1/1/2013. However, I might do a recap of the things that I remember happened on this very year.

I guess have a good Xmas weekend. I'm gonna attend a convention called Comic Fiesta this weekend, and hopefully get my picture taken with some cosplayers.

Street Fighter X Mega Man: My thoughts on the game

On 17th December, Capcom released a game called Street Fighter X Mega Man for the PC for free on their website, Capcom Unity. While this game started out as a holiday project by a fan of both series, it ended up getting the support of Capcom. The fan developer developed the game and gets paid, and Capcom advertises the game and releases it for free.

I am fans of both series, but I'm a fan of the Mega Man series longer. I liked how Megaman X4 looked last time (that was my first Mega Man game), and my favourite Mega Man series by far is the Megaman Zero series. With the exception of the Legends and Starforce series, I've played (and beaten) at least one game from every Mega Man series.

So, when I saw who developed this title, it was no surprise to me. I subscribed to a Youtube channel called 'Cross Counter TV', which is a channel formed by the team Cross Counter, and is mainly about fighting games. While most videos from them are from CC US, some of them were from CC Asia, a subgroup consisting of top fighting game players in Singapore. At one point, they had a CC Asia intro, which was an 8-bit Mega Man-like style of animation with chiptune music playing at the background. This intro was done by the same person who did SFXMM - Seow Zong Hui, a Singaporean. He's also responsible for the 8-bit remix of EVO Moment 37.

For a Mega Man game made by a fan, it's actually quite good in my opinion. The jumping, shooting, and sliding all feels like Classic Mega Man games, and the fan did all the physics of the game by himself. The roster for the eight bosses also feels right, having at least one representative from every main Street Fighter series.

One thing unique about the boss is that they have a Super meter next to them that builds up when they get hit. And when it's full, the boss could execute their super where the camera zooms in to them like when a character does an Ultra Combo in Street Fighter IV.

Defeating all bosses will automatically take you to the final boss stage, where the first battle is with Balrog (Boxer), followed by Vega (Claw). Next, the boss rush, and finally, a final battle with M.Bison (Dictator). However, if you have gotten 4 perfects or more (by having full health when the boss is defeated) from bosses prior to entering the boss rush stage, you'll encounter Akuma/Gouki, who will kill of M.Bison while you're fighting him halfway, and the sentence 'Here Comes A New Challenger' appearing on the screen.

While I have not fought Akuma before, I know that his super meter is always full, and his super, Wrath of the Raging Demon (or Shin Shungokusatsu) will kill Mega Man in one hit. It's cool that they have a secret boss in a Mega Man game since this is a Street Fighter thing.

Anyways, I should have a brief summary of what I think of the game.

Pros:

  • Unique boss fights. Bosses in this game have a much more different attack pattern that can't be abused that often. Just like a fighting game, no characters will to the same attack over and over again.
  • More flexible ladders. In the Urien and Vega stage, we get introduced to ladders that we can use to ascend, but in a more flexible way (as in we can move left and right since the ladder is wide).
  • Balrog's fight. It's a first in the Classic series. Instead of fighting the boss in the end, you encounter him in the beginning, where you must run away from him or he'll one shot you with his punch. The method of winning him is unique too (though it seemed too cheap and easy), which is to let him fall into a pit.
  • It has plenty of secrets. Like Mega Man able to do the Hadouken without getting Ryu's power, getting Yang's Seiei Enbu Super (also known as V-ism in SF Alpha) permanently, changing the stage's them to Guile's theme, or even making Mega Man helmetless. This game has some hidden secrets here and there.
  • It's a crossover game. Fans of both series will get to enjoy it.
  • It's free. Also, if you like the soundtrack (which is pretty good), you could also get it for free.
Cons:
  • You can't save. So if you want to beat the game you have to beat the game in one sitting.
  • Stages may be glitchy. E-tanks are sometimes found in random places in the stage that doesn't make any sense.
  • Difficulty spike from stage to the boss battles. This is mostly because the bosses does not have a proper attack pattern and some of their moves deal a lot of damage. While an experienced gamer might be able shrug it off, novices can't. Also, the Vega boss fight is one of the hardest in the game.
  • The controls. Some people think that Classic Mega Man games should be played on consoles as using a keyboard to play the game feels weird. The good news is that if you have a PS3 controller or any controller that has a USB port, you could use it instead of a keyboard. For me, I have a PC gamepad by Logitech, so I don't really experience this.
Overall, SFXMM is a really good game, considering that it started off as a holiday project by Seow Zong Hui. I would highly recommend this to any Mega Man fan. It's worth playing if you have the time.

Achievement Unlocked: Eat/Drink at a Maid Cafe

I always wanted to visit Japan. There's many places in Japan that I personally would like to see for myself. Like the Statue of Hachiko at Shibuya, Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower, and Evangelion World which is located near Mt.Fuji, I always wanted to eat/drink at a maid cafe.

Maybe it's because I'm into Japanese pop culture, or that some girls when dressed in frilly French Maid costumes look really cute/hot. Or maybe it's just my urge to know how it feels like to be in one of these cafes.

Then one day, I went to a mall that I don't go too often (maybe once a month or two months), and I notice a pink-coloured restaurant. Normally, I would dismiss it and look somewhere else because I was expecting a girly-themed, fairy tale (maybe?) shop of some sort. But upon closer inspection, I realised that it was a maid cafe.

Back then, I didn't really wanted to visit a maid cafe. But some months has passed, and my taste has changed. However there was a problem. The fact that I don't really go to the mall that much and that when I do, I don't normally eat/drink there means that I won't be eating/drinking there. So I waited for a perfect opportunity.

There was an anime convention coming up (this was around June of this year). One of the highlights of the convention (other than the performances by J-Pop singers) were a mini Maid Cafe and Butler Cafe. So I wanted to go in and try it. However, the queue was long and I didn't have the patience. Plus, I'm going there alone and that, to me was a pretty awkward situation for a first timer going into a place like this.

Then today, I happen to be at the mall where the maid cafe was at. And this time, I got a friend with me who was interested in going into the cafe but is embarrassed to do it alone. So together as bros, we went in the cafe and have a drink.

It was an interesting experience. While the girls were pretty cute, I wish that they wore a black maid outfit instead of a pink one (just my personal preference cuz I think black is an awesome colour) even though the whole theme of the cafe is pink. There were some rules and regulations stated on the menu itself for the customers (like no groping the maids, no outside food, harassing one of the maids, asking for the maid's handphone/email/facebook etc.).

Another thing stated in the menu is that you can play a game on the PS3 there (and ask one of the maids to play with you! But you have to pay them, of course). Also, you could also ask them to feed you (as ridiculous as it sounds), but you have to pay for their service. Finally, you could also take a picture with a maid of your choice. Again you have to pay them.

We weren't there for all those. We just went in, had a coffee drink and left the place (oh, there's a rule saying that you can't stay in there for more than two hours). If there's one thing I regret not doing is that I didn't take a picture with one of the maids. Yeah, one of them was really cute in my opinion. Too bad I just wasted it.

Anyways, the whole experience at the maid cafe made my day. It was a rather shitty one at first. I couldn't get a 3DS, stores in the malls are closing, arcade cabinets not working. It all went better when we went into the maid cafe.

Yeah, good day.

Back in Malaysia

Yeah, I have not posted much in a while. Mostly because there's nothing good to post in one post. instead, I'll do a summary of the stuff that happened in the past few days:

I went to Singapore to visit my friend and to just walk around there. I went to one of their libraries which was pretty awesome as they have a lot of artbooks for Capcom games like the Megaman classic, Megaman X, and Street Fighter series.

I also went to this beautiful place called Gardens by the Bay, which is near Marina Bay Sands. It's a really cooling place that showcases many different plant species, some even from Africa and Australia, and you can find it all in one dome. It's a great place to see plants and all it's various types without getting hot and sweaty like you normally would if you go into a forest or a jungle. Also, there's a really cool looking man-made waterfall in there, something that you should check out.

The Street Fighter 25th Anniversary World Finals just ended. Hoping that Daigo would win SSFIV:AE ver.2012, but he got second to EVO 2012 winner Infiltration, who also won Street Fighter X Tekken, meaning that this dude won 50,000 USD and a sports car! Also, I knew from the very beginning that MOV would win 3rd Strike, and I was right. He was also saying that they should ban his Chun-Li for being too overpowered. So during the grand finals, he used Ken instead. But he gave an absolute dominating performance even with Ken and took the title.

In other news, a free game from Capcom called Megaman X Street Fighter will be released on the 17th December for the PC. While this game is fan-made in the beginning, the creator of the game showed his idea and his current progress to one of the Capcom guys during EVO 2012, and he liked it. Long story short, Capcom funded the guy whatever he needed to continue the game, and did the advertising themselves, and of course, selling the game for free, which is a rarity for Capcom. Not that I'm complaining.

Also, did anyone watched the finale of The Amazing Race 21? It was so epic. The goat farmers, which is a team who have not gotten a position higher than 4th place before there were 4 teams left, and did not get above 3rd place when there were 3 teams left won the whole thing when they were able to complete the memory task faster than the other 2 teams.
Allow me to explain a bit. Since season 9, there is a pattern in most final legs of the race where teams will need to do a memory task, which is based on the things they encountered during the race. This season's memory task was a tough one. Whenever the teams reached a pit stop they are greeted 'Hello' and 'Goodbye' by the greeter in the language of the country they're in. The final task was to place in correct order the phrase 'Hello' and 'Goodbye' in the correct language of the country.
Most teams would have recorded what they've done, where they went. But no one took note of the greeters greetings when they reach the pit stop. Adding to the fact that the task is quite physical, and you see teams stuck in this task for two and a half hours and still not completing the task.
But in the end, the farmers, who were last or close to last almost every leg, end up winning the grand prize. The ultimate underdogs, and proof that anyone in the top 3 can win the race.

Anyways, that's all for today.

Having some events and stuff going on

First off, I got the results for the units I took this semester. I passed every unit (yay!), but the way the results was presented to me nearly gave me a shock.

So, there were a few columns in the table. The one that I was looking at was the 'unit name' and 'grade' column. Then I saw:
Biotech - C
Biology - D
Chemistry - HD
Statistics - D

I was like 'Fuck! A 'D' for Bio and Stats? I am so dead!'. I panicked a while, then I saw a column saying 'marks' next to the 'grades' column. And then it all made sense (somehow):

Biotech - C .             67
Biology - D               78
Chemistry - HD        82
Statistics - D             74

I thought 'How is 67 a 'C' and 78 a 'D?', then I finally realised that a 'C' stands for 'Credit' and 'D' stands for 'Distinction', 'HD' being 'High Distinction', not 'High Definition'. In short, I did pretty decently for this semester and my current CGPA is 3.0. Let's hope the CGPA is maintained or even improved on throughout my uni life.

I somehow knew how my unit grade will end up like after finishing my exams. I knew that Chemistry and Biology would be the two highest scoring units this sem, and that Biotech will be my lowest. I just don't know the grades I will get for those units. It's a good thing it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. So I'm pretty satisfied with my marks.

Even though some of my friends aren't satisfied with their grades despite doing better than me I don't really mind. They have their mind set on a goal, and I didn't have any goals for this semester, really, other than to not fail anything. Maybe that's how I do things. I start off slowly, and get progressively better. As long as there's improvement in grades, I'm happy about it because there is improvement.

So now I can enjoy the rest of the month of December month in peace. I'm heading to Singapore tomorrow, visiting my friend and staying at his house for a week.

Also, another thing. The world finals of the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary will be on this weekend, live from the US. This is something I really look forward to. I want to see who will take the crown for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Ver.2012 and Street Fighter III Third Strike. The finals in on the 8th of December but the schedules of the event is not out yet. When is out, I'll see whether I have to stay up late to watch who will win.

And I guess that's all for now.

My opinion on Wreck-It Ralph

I hate to admit it, but video-games based movies and movies about video games usually suck. I dunno why. Or maybe I just never watch the good ones. Other than Tron, other mainstream movies like Gamer and Staying Alive suck pretty bad. But I was pretty excited when I saw cameos of bad guys in the bad guy anonymous meeting during the E3 trailer of Wreck-It Ralph. But I was also a bit cautious about it. Due to the fact that previous movies about video games tanked, I wasn't very sure how Disney would do in this movie.

Then I had to wait, till November when the movie comes out. It was released in the US on the 2nd of November, so I thought 'Hmmm, maybe it would be released here in Malaysia a few days later, which means after my semester exam, it would be just the right time to watch it'. But I was wrong, it was released in Malaysia on the 29th November. So I had to wait another four more weeks till I can watch it.

Meanwhile, the reviews of the movie were positive. 'Finally, a good video game movie' I thought. So my expectations were high before entering the movie. So, when I watched the movie today.......

Short version: It was a really good movie. It exceeded my expectations by a mile, and I would consider it to be one of the best movies based on video games ever made.

Long version:

WARNING: MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS

Where do I even begin? Maybe by a summary of the plot.

Wreck-It Ralph is the bad guy in an arcade cabinet called Fix-It Felix Jr. in which Fix-It Felix Jr. is the good guy. He's been playing the bad guy role for 30 years and he's getting tired of it because he doesn't get the appreciated by the other NPCs in the arcade cabinet (aka the residents in the apartment he destroys). He sets out on a journey to other arcade games to get a medal (something rewarded to Felix whenever he wins a level), something he thinks that would make him appreciated in his game world.

Some say this is a video game version of Toy Story, as the video game characters come alive when the arcade closes. It's a fun to see how Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter would stop fighting each other and go to the Tappers bar for a drink.

One of my favourite part of the show was the bad guys meeting, where you can find Ralph, Zangief and M.Bison from Street Fighter, Kano from Mortal Kombat, the Zombie from House of the Dead, Bowser from the Mario games, Dr. Eggman from the Sonic games, and even Clyde, the ghost in Pac Man all in one room. Mad props to Zangief for being the Street Fighter character that deliver the most lines (cuz he's my main), including his 'crushing a man's skull like a sparrow's egg between his thighs', which is one of the most awesomest descriptions of his spinning piledriver. Also, I was surprised when at the end of the bad guys meeting, it was held in the Ghost's house (or whatever that is) in Pac Man.

The different video game worlds were also nicely done. Other than all the cameos and video game references which appears from different games (which I'll get to later), the train they used when they travel to the Game Central Station looks different for each game. There's a retro look to the Fix-It Felix one, a modern/futuristic version in Hero's Duty, and a simple looking one in Pac Man.

Now for the references. So many of them, and some that I even missed. From the exclamation mark from the Metal Gear series to Ralph sarcastically saying that his name is Lara Croft, to mushrooms from Mario, and even the famous Konami Code referenced. There were even some I missed, like the graffiti saying 'Leeroy Jenkins' and one about 'Shen Long'. There's also a Subway reference, and the diet cola and mentos shout out. Also, Ryu's appearance at the Tappers bar and Chun-Li and Cammy, along with some Princess Peach and Daisy lookalikes in the Game Central Station. Not to mention, Sonic losing his rings when he got hit. And portraits, of Ryu, Ken, Tails, Sonic, Eggman and more in the Tappers bar. Seriously, there's so many of them that I lost track and lost count.

I also realised that, for a Disney movie that is suppose to appeal to the general audience, it got a lot of crap pass the radar, which is rare. There was Kano ripping a zombie's heart out (presumably doing a fatality), Ralph finding Zangief's red underwear at the Tappers lost and found, a red guy with horns called in the bad guys meeting called Satan but pronounced as Sah-teen. The phrases 'move your molasses', 'milk my duds', 'pussywillows', and 'pillow pants' heard at some point. Yeah, this is a kids show alright.

The credits sequence was awesome to watch. From Ralph and Sonic in the Chemical Plant Zone in Sonic 2, to Ralph, Venellope and Ryu detroying the car in the Street Fighter II Bonus Stage, to Ralph fighting Blanka, and finally to what seems like an older looking version of Hero's Duty which resembles Doom, one of the earliest FPS.

Overall, I would highly recommend this show to anyone who likes video games, animated shows, children and even their parents to watch this. It's nice for the kids nostalgic for the parents. It also have a decent plot that is well executed, and some good moral values in it that children can learn from (coming from a movie about video games, which is generally perceived as bad for children). It has some hilarious moments, some tense moments, sad moments, and heartwarming stuff. An great movie that is quickly becoming one of my favourtie animated movies out there.

The Awesomeness of Bruce Lee

If Bruce Lee was alive he would be 72 years old today.

Also, Bruce Lee is a Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac. And this year, is also the Year of the Dragon. And I think that just makes today so much more meaningful. If you haven't guessed it yet, it's his birthday today.

You know why I think Bruce Lee is so awesome? It's because he passed away 40 years ago, yet he is still known worldwide and is considered a cultural icon today.

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."
- Bruce Lee.

Many regard him as the founder of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). It is true to some extend, due to the fact that the martial art that he founded - Jeet Kune Do- consists of moves from various martial arts. While MMA has origins dated back till the Greco-Roman era, he isn't the founder, but more like the Father of MMA.

As Bruce Lee studies various martial arts, he realized that each style has their advantages and their weaknesses. To be the most versatile fighter, you need to have knowledge of all the styles, to be the jack of all trades, as adapting to a different martial art style while facing a different opponent will determine who wins or loses.

“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
-Bruce Lee.

Bruce Lee's is also notable for doing many awesome feats. He can punch and kick so fast that it's faster than the a 24 frames per second video recorder (the video recorder used to record his physical feats was this) could not even capture his punches and kicks in slow motion. Normally martial art films have to speed up the punches and kicks a bit to make it look intense. Bruce Lee's attacks have to be slowed down instead.

Oh, and Bruce Lee can kick Chuck Norris' ass. Don't believe me? Here's a video of it.

You might be thinking, 'Sun, this is a movie.' True, but this fight scene was real. Other than that scene, he defeated Chuck Norris three times.

Also, he can play ping pong/ table tennis with his trademark weapon, the nunchucks.

He can also do a 2 finger push-up. And snatch a dime off a person's open palm before they could close it, and leave a penny behind

"Don't think, feel....it is like a finger pointing a way to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory!"
- Bruce Lee.

So, yeah. Bruce Lee's pretty awesome. Which is why after his death, actors have been trying to get Bruce Lee clones, or people who look like Bruce Lee to act in films to cash in on his success.

Needless to say, Bruce Lee clones are everywhere. Some notable ones that I know (most of them are from anime/manga and video games) include:

  • Mighty Guy and Rock Lee from Naruto
  • Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star
  • Fei Long from Street Fighter
  • Marshall and Forrest Law from Tekken
There's also not so obvious examples of a Bruce Lee clone. Some that I know are:

  • Maxi from Soul Calibur
  • Jacky Bryant from Virtua Fighter
  • Jann Lee from Dead or Alive
  • Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop

"Use only that which works, and take it from any place you can find it."
- Bruce Lee.

So, that it I guess. Bruce Lee is a legend and he'll always be one. Also, he has one awesome statue in Hong Kong.

Oh, one last quote to end this off, but this is not from Bruce Lee.

"There can never be another legend like the great one and his son."
- Fei Long in his ending in Super Street Fighter II

Sunday 25 November 2012

Had a strangely awesome dream. Too bad I woke up.

It's a dream about a video game I've played before, a game called 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors (999).

Not trying to be a hipster and all, but I'm pretty sure not many heard of this game before. It's one of the very few games for the Nintendo DS that is M-Rated, and it's sequel, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward for the 3DS and PS Vita is no different.

The game is divided into a visual novel section and a puzzle solving section. Also, the games have multiple endings in it, so for people who wanna get the whole story on everything would have to complete the game a few times.

999 is about you and eight other people getting stuck in what seems to be a really huge ship, and being forced to take part in the Nonary games. You'll have to team up with the others to entered a numbered door. Each person has a bracelet with a number attached to them (numbers ranging from 1-9), and to enter a numbered door, 3-5 people have to place their hands on the scanner, and the 'digital root' of the 3-5 people must match the numbered door.

What is a digital root? I think giving an example would be appropriate to explain this. So, if a person wants to enter door number 1, the person with bracelets number 1, 4, and 5 can enter together. It's because 1+4+5=10, and 1+0=1. In short, all the numbers are added until a single digit is obtained, and that is the digital root.

The objective of the game is to exit through the door that has the number '9' on it. And over the course of playing the game, you'll find that the other eight people on board are related somehow in some events in the past, and not all is what it seems.

This game is M-rated for some really good reasons. There's a lot of science fiction elements in some of the plot points in the game which will be hard to digest for younger gamers. Also, there's some sort of mind screw to the player when you reach the true ending.

Anyways, back to the dream I had.

So in this dream, I somehow participated, along with some of my friends and some other people, and game that is similar to the Nonary games in 999, but with a few differences. In 999, the characters in the Nonary games were gassed and kidnapped and began their journey stuck in a cabin. In my dream, we were each given a bracelet, and then we entered a door and began our game.

While survival is the key point in 999, my dream was more about fun and games. Also, there were more than nine participants in the dream I had, meaning more than 1 person have the same bracelet number. Another big difference was the numbered doors. In 999, no one can enter the numbered door once it's occupied. In my dream, the doors just served as a minor obstacle where we need to team up just to get the digital root to enter the next area.

In the dream, this game was a three day event. All the participants entered the briefing room, and all of them were around the same age as me. After briefing, we were given a bracelet with a number. The other door in the briefing room opened and we entered the door. Then we were greeted by two numbered doors.

Each of us discuss among ourselves to get the digital root of the door and took turns to enter it to reach the next area. In the next area, there were mini games to play and completing them reveals the exit (yeah, unlike 999, this was supposed to be fun). Then, all participants (from both numbered doors) meet up and we were greeted by two numbered doors again.

Doing the same thing as before, we reached the next area, completed more mini games and then the exit was revealed yet again. Like before, both participants meet up and we encountered the third set of two numbered doors. Repeating the steps earlier, all participants ended up together again, facing the final numbered door.

Then we take turns to get the digital root of the door, and exit the place. And that was the end of Day 1 of this dream version of the Nonary games.

In Day 2, I decided to go through all the doors that I didn't go through the previous day, and then Day 2 ended.

Finally it was Day 3. Before we entered the briefing room, there was an announcement saying that this would be an optional game. Since many did the same thing I did for the first two days (to play all the mini games from all the doors), a lot of people decided not to go for it the third time. I find it suspicious on why would they organize a final day event, so I joined to see what happens.

Before entering the briefing room, I met up with two other friends of mine. Then we entered the briefing room, that had very few people. If I remember my dream correctly, it had nine (yikes!) participants. After briefing, we entered the door, and I woke up, fuck! And now here I am trying to recall all the things that happened in this dream.

Well, I guess that's all I can remember. Other things that I can think of would be theories on what is going on in the final day.

Anyways, this is a rather random post I think. But tomorrow, I'll be posting something rather special.

Picking your main at a fighting game

So, whenever a person play a fighting game, there's gotta be a character in the game that would be considered his best character. The same goes to me. Whether it be Brawl or Street Fighter, there is a character that I prefer to use. A character that I think suits my playstyle and I enjoy playing that character, also known as my main.

So, who do I main in Street Fighter IV? That's a very good question. You see, I play SFIV/SSFIV on the PC and the arcades, and I have very different playstyles in both versions of the game. On the PC, I usually use the keyboard, so I use Ryu/Ken/Dan and other shotos and their clones more. But in the arcades (or whenever I'm using my PC joystick), I use grapplers like Zangief and T.Hawk more. It's just something about the arcade/analog stick that makes doing a command grab so much easier. Also, Zangief on the joystick is my best character. I could beat the game at hardest difficulty with him.

In 3rd Strike, I started using Ken at first. But once I switched to Ryu, I realised he suits my style more than Ken. I got better rank with him and my score is higher. And so, I try my best to train my Ryu. However, lately, I was bored. Not bored of using Ryu, just wanna try out other 3rd Strike characters (they deserve more love you know).

They were two characters that I planned to try (and as of this post, I have tried them a little). They were Dudley and Q. I tried playing Dudley in SSFIV and he was my main for a while. Then I just stopped using him. So I try to play him in 3rd Strike. He was fun to play, even though it kinda throws me back on the fact that his moves are half-circle instead of the quarter circle motion I'm used to (I've not played a mainly half-circle character for a long time), but he was good. Though I only lasted till Stage 4 and lost.

Then we have Q, the first charge character that I try to use in 3rd Strike. While he was fun to play with, he isn't a really great character, as in low tier. I do not have a problem with low tier characters (I think I play Dan BETTER than most shotos in SSFIV), but his normals aren't good, and I haven't learn to properly do combos with him. And while he has a really neat command grab, I have yet to perfect the juggle timing. Also, sometimes I forgot to taunt, which is an important thing to do when playing him (it increases his health).

While like Dudley, my best Q playthrough was till Stage 4, I think that Dudley is the better character among the two. Maybe it's because I managed to find more information on playing him than Q, and the fact that he has several target combos to use. Either way, I'll try my best to master them, or I'll try mastering other characters like Yun, Yang, and Alex.

My 5 Favourite Tracks From Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike

I love video game music, some more than others.

I was never really a fan of fighting game music at first, really. When I was younger, I played Tekken 5 a lot. And the tracks were okay. The best song, along with the best stage in Tekken 5 was Moonlit Wilderness. It has the most epic tune ever. The Moonlit Wilderness in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 wasn't as good as the original.

But that's getting off topic.

Ever since I switched from playing Tekken to Street Fighter (as in SSFIV) a year ago, I realize that the soundtrack is really good. It was catchy, in a good way, and it is just plain awesome to listen to. Then I tried looking for older Street Fighter games to play. And I found Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

SFIII:3S has one of the coolest soundtracks for a fighting game ever. I like the jazz and hip-hop feel in the soundtrack. Despite having the steepest learning curve of all the Street Fighter games, I like the game due to the soundtrack, and that made like that game a lot.

This post is about my 5 favourite tracks from the game. It could be an arranged track or the arcade track, doesn't matter, as long as it is part of the 3rd Strike soundtrack it's in this list. Also, this is a favourite list, so opinions may differ.

5. Gill's theme - Psyched Out.

This theme just sounds so cool. Also, if you hear carefully, you can hear a bit of his theme from 2nd Impact. In my opinion, it also has some sort of 'the final boss is really tough and godlike' vibe, and that it's gonna be tough to fight him. And Gill really is tough. High health, fast and safe attacks, a resurrecting super, and a full-screen super that can't be parried that deals 90-100% if not blocked. This theme does suit the Emperor of the Illuminati.

4. Yun & Yang's theme - Crowded Street (Third Edit)
Another cool theme (well, most of the 3rd Strike themes sound cool to me). I prefer the arcade version over the arranged version of this track. I sounds cooler and has a more 'James Bond' feel. The arranged one is good too, but I just prefer this one more.
I think this theme suits the twins really well. Yun's Gen'ei Jin and Yang's Sei'ei Enbu Super Art enable them to do some really sick juggling combos, and that's cool, just like their theme.

3. Theme of Q

Q, the mysterious masked person in a trench coat. A person who can only be fought in the arcade mode after Stage 7 if you get 2 SP points, not lose a round, get rank D or higher, and get a number of Super Art Finishes. Meeting the requirements, he appears and fights you, and his theme starts to play.
Again, this theme suits Q well. It gives the impression that Q is a mysterious person. Who Q is and what are his motives remain a mystery even till now. Whether we know who Q is or not, or whether he's a good guy or a bad guy, there's no denying that he has an awesome track.

2. The Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Main Theme (Or Main Menu Theme)

Like I said, if it's part of the soundtrack, it can be part of this list. This theme, also known as the intro theme, main menu theme or main theme is sang by Canadian rapper Infinite. All I can say is that is he did a really good job. The song is catchy, cool, and as an intro theme, it sounds awesome as hell. The character selection theme is also nice, but I think this track is really well done.
There's nothing else to say about this track, other than the fact that it is a way better track than the 3S:OE's 'Knock You Out' main theme.

1. Alex & Ken's Stage - Jazzy NYC'99

My favourite track of them all - the theme for Alex and Ken's stage. Another cool as hell theme. If I'm correct, this theme is also the most listened to theme of all compared to the other 3rd Strike themes, and it's all because of EVO Moment #37.
It's too bad that the 3S:OE version of this song is way inferior to the original track. But the Tatsunoko Vs Capcom's version of Alex's theme wasn't too bad, just not as nice as this one, solely for the fact that the saxophone part of the track wasn't extended (that part was one of the best parts of the song).

And that concludes my list.

I might to a list for the Street Fighter IV soundtrack next time.

Street Fighter should have a dream match game.

A dream match game would be a game coming from a franchise that has a few games and this game would include every character to have existed in the game in this one game. This mostly applies to fighting games. While most major fighting game franchise have at least one dream match game, Street Fighter is one of the very few that does not have such title.

I like many others do feel that the Street Fighter series has great potential to be a really good dream match game. And like many, I do have ideas on how this game should be. And this post is about how I think a dream match title would be like for the Street Fighter series.

1. Roster:
Every character from SF, the SFII series, the Alpha series, the SFIII series and the SFIV series, including Poison who is a playable character in SFXT (though I think putting Ingrid is optional). How about those characters from the EX series? I dunno. Maybe those could too, but I'm not so sure cuz I'm not really attached to the EX series.
I feel like some of the characters from the original SF and 3rd Strike were not recognizable by many even though I personally think they look awesome as hell like Retsu, the monk from Japan in the first Street Fighter, and Q, the mysterious person wearing a trench coat in 3rd Strike.
Characters from the first SF who didn't make any further appearance in any games could be given a new moveset, and therefore making old characters new again. Also, a must to put in the arcade mode would be prologue and epilogue for every character.
An optional but awesome thing is to maybe just add some new characters. Even if it's two characters it's fine by me.

2. Graphics and Music:
While some say graphics should be 2D, I think that having the characters in 3D while fighting on a 2D plane (like how SFIV is) is perfectly fine. Though, I think that some characters should have their muscles toned down a little to make them look better instead of making them look like steroids were injected into them.
As for the music, I think that each stage should have their own music, like in SFIV, but each character should also have a theme of their own too.
Also, unlockables should be added into the game, like artwork of characters, and soundtracks of previous games. These should be something to be unlocked by a point system which will be explained later in the extra content section.

3. Gameplay:
This is the toughest section as each SF brings something unique to the table. So why not put all of them in the dream match game? Five different styles should be added in the game:
A.The basic style of SF and SFII
B.The style of SSFII Turbo that has an added super gauge
C.The custom combo system of Alpha
D.Super Art selection and Parry system of 3rd Strike, and
E.The Focus Attack and Ultra combo mechanic of SFIV
Each style will have their pros and cons.
Style A is the most basic of styles that suits beginners. Special moves like the hadouken does the most damage than other styles, but this style lacks mobility and options.
Style B is slightly more advance than A, having a Super gauge, but like A it lacks mobility and options and it's special moves deal less damage than A.
Style C is a style similar to Alpha 2. It is considered a style for advanced players as skills are needed to make custom combo. While this style excels in pressuring damage potential it lacks mobility and it has a guard meter, which means it can guard break and get punished.
Style D is another advance style. Giving players 3 choice of Super Arts, a Parry system and EX moves (and even taunts that help the game). With plenty of options, Style D has a steep learning curve that might be to tough for some players.
Finally Style E, a medium difficulty style. It gives players 2 options for an Ultra, a super gauge, EX moves, and Focus Attacks. Not as many options as D, but it has a good learning curve that isn't too steep for players to grasp.
Gameplaywise, it should be a one-on-one, but maybe other game modes like two-on-two would be nice.
Also, more options for training (like parry training), and some training missions and training guide should be in the game to make players understand the game more.

4.Boss characters:
In my opinion, there should be 5 boss characters, and they should retain their cheapness from their old games.
First of is Sagat from the first SF. Next is Akuma (or Shin Akuma) from SSFII Turbo. Why not M.Bison? Cuz M.Bison from SF Alpha should be boss No.3. The next one is Gill from 3rd Strike. And finally Seth from SFIV.
How to fight the characters? The boss you battle depends on the style you use. But an option to randomize the boss would be nice. They should also make the boss unlockable (not a tournament legal version, but a cheap, playable version just for lulz), but not make it easy. If they wanna make it unlockable or DLC it's fine by me.

5.Mini Games:
Have it or not it doesn't really matter to me, though adding it would be nice.

6.Online mode:
While it's a must to have smooth online, I think that they should have an interface similar to Soul Calibur 5, with group chat an all. Oh, and an online training mode would be nice.

7.Extra content:
During gameplay, points should be given out similarly to the console version of Marvel Vs Capcom 2. These points can be used to unlock stuff like character art (or any sort of art), music tracks from older games, or even the five boss characters. Alternate costumes would be nice, but I think that they should have 1 or 2 as unlockables while the others can be DLC. Also, I think characters from the EX series could be added as DLC/unlockables depending on how popular they are.

I think that about sums up my idea what Capcom should do should they make a Street Fighter Dream Match game.

That's all for now.

Nicknaming your Pokemon, and my Pokemon Black 2 Journey

So, my exams just ended and I'm spending my time playing video games at the moment. There's two games that I'm currently playing. One is Pokemon Black 2, and the other is 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, which is an 'M' rated science fiction visual novel style game with some puzzle solving elements for the DS. Yeah, the word "'M' rated" and 'DS' being put together sounds interesting enough but that's not the main point of this post.

In every Pokemon game, there's always give you the option of naming your character and your Pokemon (and also your rival in some cases). While some players don't name their Pokemon, I'm one of the people who actually do that. Why? Because it's fun. Also, it's a must to nickname your Pokemon when playing the Nuzlocke challenge.

So, what how do I nickname my Pokemon you ask? I have a few methods of naming my Pokemon, but I do have one rule, and that is I do not nickname my Legendary Pokemon (Because their original names are good enough for me). One method was to spell the Pokemon's name backwards and that will become the nickname. Sometimes I get something awesome (like 'Moolerb' for Breloom), but most of the times they were horrible. Plus, this method never works on Ho-oh, Eevee, Girafarig and Alomomola.

Another method I have is to see what the Pokemon remind me of. I nicknamed my male Drilbur 'Simon' because it's a mole, with drills. Gurren Lagann anyone? Also, I had an Emboar nicknamed 'Cho Hakkai', nicknamed after the pig monster Cho Hakkai in the epic 'Journey to the West'.

Sometimes I really don't know what to name it, and so I'll actually check Bulbapedia for the original Pokemon's name origin and try to come out with a creative name. One Pokemon I'll always have in my team if I could obtain the Pokemon is a male Gardevoir (and no, I'm one of those people who have weird Pokemon fetishes). The reason it's a male Gardevoir is that whenever I catch a Ralts to add into my team, it's always a male Ralts. Even in Platinum, where the male Ralts had better nature for Special Attack. Originally, in Emerald, I give my Gardevoir a dumb nickname called 'I'm A Boy' due to it looking more like a female than a male. In my later games, I call it Gardner, a name I came up by reading Bulbapedia.

One more method I have is a gender specific method. Whenever I catch a Pokemon, I'll give it a male/female name depending on the gender I got. For example, if I have a male Crobat I'll call it Bruce (for obvious reasons), and if it's a female it's Tabitha.

My final method is just giving it a very generic name (which I did when I was younger, but not now). Like Raichu would be 'Bolt', Vaporeon would be 'Aqua', etc.

So, with the first topic out of the way, on to the second one. I continued my Black 2 from where I left off. Before I continued playing it on Thursday, I was at Nimbasa City with 3 badges and 5 Pokemon. I have not explored anything near the city yet, or even the Desert Resort. My team was
Dewott named 'Kenshi' (After the samurai from the anime Ruroni Kenshin)
Rossi the Flaffy (It'll be a male Ampharos. I took the 'Ros' and made Rossi out of it)
Missile the Growlithe (Named after the Pomeranian 'Missile' from the DS title Ghost Trick)
Golbat named Tabitha (Tab is 'Bat' backwards, bit is the past tense of 'bite', and my Golbat is a female)
and Psynx the Espeon (Psychic + Lynx = Psynx)

I have my team all planned out. My final Pokemon was gonna be N's Zorua which will be given to me at Driftveil City.

A few hours of playing later, I've got 6 badges, and now at Lacunosa Town. All the members of my team are fully evolved and they're pretty good in my opinion. The problem with my team I think is that it lacks a tank, but I don't consider that a huge problem.

Another problem with my team is that it's underleveled. Not a big problem, I just need to either grind more, or use some good strategy when facing the Gym Leaders ahead.

Anyways, that's about all for today.

Wednesday 7 November 2012

Exams over, and I went for a game of laser tag!

Yeah, my last paper is today. Finally, the first semester of my university life is over.

So, what did I do today you ask? I played laser tag with my friends.

This is the first time I played laser tag, but I've heard about it before, mostly thanks to the show 'How I Met Your Mother' as one of the characters in the show, Barney Stinson loves to play laser tag.

There were 8 of us. And the goal was to score the highest points to win. The person in charged asked us whether we would like to play individually or in groups of 2. We chose to play solo since if you play as a group, friendly fire will deduct marks. Plus, shooting everything you can see is better right?

It wasn't peak hour in the laser tag center, so it was just 8 of us. So we went to another room to get the laser tag suit thingy. Each of them has a codename on it. It's just to look cool and to keep track of our scores when the game ends. I was trying to find one with the codename 'Sun' or anything fire related but I ended up taking 'Stealth' instead.

When the game started, I was getting shot left and right by people. And since the place was rather dark, I couldn't see who shot me or where they are. So I was like freaking hopeless in the beginning, just trying to find a place to hide before my suit reactivate itself and I get shot again.

Eventually, I picked up some momentum and started shooting people rather than being shot at. And this laser tag game has a feature where if you get three kills in a row, your laser gun will level up with rapid fire enabled to make you even more godlike than before. The rapid fire lasts until you get hit, and then you start from scratch.

It was pretty fun, I enjoyed it a lot. The gun wasn't that heavy and has to be held by both hands with slight similarity to holding a shotgun. I don't really have any problems in holding guns like this because I play Time Crisis a lot in the arcade and I usually hold the Guncon in that manner.

When time was out, we took a group photo in the end, and exit to check out the score on the TV. I was pretty surprised on how well I did. I got second, which is not bad at all considering I'm not an athletic person like some of my friends. Maybe I did well thanks to video games and all those hours spent on Time Crisis 2, 3 and 4 at the arcade, yeah, that's it!

Other than that, I went home, and spend all of my time watching Youtube videos that I wanted to watch but couldn't due to exams. And that's how it is.

Before I end this, I knew from the beginning that Romney will not beat Obama during the presidential election. So when I heard the news about Obama's victory after exam, I was like 'just as expected'.

That's all for now.

I finally beaten Digimon World 2 - A history of me and Digimon games

You must be thinking 'Aren't you suppose to be studying Sun? Your exam is next week.' Well, don't blame me. I need something non-science related to make me rest my brain from all that studying - and that is by playing some video games.

So, I suddenly thought of my Digimon World 2 game, and how I have not beaten it after all these years. So I played it, continuing from where I left of, and beat the game.

In Digimon World 2, you are a young protagonist who just completed training and is becoming a licensed tamer. Then, you join something like a guild in the city, with each guild specializing in different types of Digimon - one Vaccine, Data, and Virus. From there, you get a partner, complete missions given by your superiors, and make your way up the ranks and becoming so strong that your leaders send you - a preteen - to defeat an enemy so strong that all the guild leaders couldn't defeat with their powers combined.

This game was my first Digimon game. And while it's not the best of games, I kinda like it. It's a dungeon crawler game, with Digimons. And each dungeon, or Domains, there are plenty of Digimons to fight and befriend.

There is however, a lot of level grinding needed in this game. Once the maximum level of a Digimon is reached, you'll have to 'DNA-Digivolve', where you take two Digimons with their max level reached, combine them and they are 1 stage lower than the lowest stage of the two Digimons (meaning a DNA DV of an Ultimate and Champion, will result in a Rookie), and then you have to train the Digimon from the ground up.

So, in order to get the moves you want for the final battle, you'll need a lot of level grinding, and some befriending of Digimon. Yeah, this game can be very tedious. But once your team of three Digimons have all the moves you want, you can curbstomp ANYONE, EVEN THE FINAL BOSS (when I mean curbstomp, I mean defeat him so badly that you can have a team of full health Digimon with him defeated, and you didn't use any healing items).

And that's what happened to the final boss. My team wasn't even in it's maximum potential (there's still some moves they haven't learn) and yet it got it's ass handed to him.

So yeah, this game was fun, and I completed it. Was it worth it? Yes. Will I recommend this game to you? No, unless you're really hardcore and willing to spend almost a hundred hours or more in the game.

Instead, go try the other Digimon RPG that I've beaten a few years earlier - Digimon World 3.

It's about you and a bunch of friends who're going to play Digimon Online. You select which starter team you want and off you go. You fight bosses, tamers, leaders of cities to give you badges (or something), play cards, until *SPOILERS* terrorists capture tamers and turn them to pigs (or Oinkmon), and you have to stop their evil plan. Then, the Digimon that the evil bad guy is trying to use to take over the world betrayed him. And now you have to face this Digimon, who has merged with a satellite and battle him in space, or else he'll merge with earth and become one of the largest and most dangerous Digimon ever existed *SPOILERS END*

While they are some level grinding involved in this game, it's much faster and doesn't feel that repetitive at all. Each Digimon has multiple evolutions that branches out depending on whether the requirement is met. You don't have to grind on each evolution you have, just for those that you want. If you want super powerful Digimons like Diaboromon, Omnimon or even Imperialdramon, then you'll need to level grind like hell. On the plus side, when you do reach to the point when you have these Digimons, the final boss is cakewalk.

Still, there are better RPGs out there. But this is the best RPG Digimon game in my opinion. Tons of things to do. Heck, even the Trading Card Game side quests were fun to play. I would recommend this game to people since it's less tedious than the previous game.

Now for some fighting games (I swear I'll stop typing soon. This is the last Digimon game I've played).
There are only two Digimon Fighting game series - the Rumble Arena series for the console, and the Battle Spirit series for the handheld. I rarely play Battle Spirit. What's the fun of a fighting game if you have no one to play with? For Rumble Arena and Rumble Arena 2? I've played tons of it.

Digimon Rumble Arena 1/2 is a Super Smashed Bros. style fighting game with a Digimon twist. In DRA1, your characters have 2 special attacks and some normal attacks. You build meter to Digivolve to the highest form if you're a pre-evolve. Then you have a time limit till you're back to the previous form. In your evolved form, you can perform a super attack, but once you do it, you go straight to pre-evolve.

When you beat the game, you unlock the evolved form of the Digimon you beaten the game with. An evolved Digimon stays evolved the whole battle, but can only perform the super attack when the meter is filled. Beating the game certain characters unlocks more characters.

In DRA1, I figured out who is the best character in the game - Gatomon. The combos you can do with it is insane, and 3 combos later, you'll stun the opponent. Best part is, once you completed a combo, you can quickly Digivolve and immediately perform the finisher to deal tons of damage.

DRA 2 plays a lot different than DRA1, but its still fun to play. It now could have 4 players max in a stage, stages were bigger and is more like Smash Bros. than the first game.

Throws are now a separate button and could potentially KO an opponent depending on where you throw them. There are 3 special moves depending on how you press the D-Pad. All Digimons that aren't boss Digimons can evolve twice, and have Ultra attacks on their final form if they have max meter. Some Digimons can triple jump, glide, and even super jump. Some Digimons have unique normal attacks by pressing the D-Pad at different directions. Also, there are multiple boss characters, some secret characters, and you can't unlock a Digimon's evolved form. Also, when a Digimon gets KOed, they're revived and are 1 stage lower than before.

This game was fun and chaotic as hell. Lots more moves that a Digimon can use. Stages were even more interactive than before. And finally I can use Tentomon, one of my favourite Digimon!

In this game, it's harder to find the best character in the game, since each of them have flaws. But if I were to say whose the best, it would be Veemon, followed by Guilmon, their final forms are beastly. But Digimons like Tentomon and BlackGabumon are dangerous too. Tentomon has is powerful in his first form and BlackGabumon is threatening even in its normal form depending on the stage.

So yeah. This is one heck of a long post, so I'll just end it here.

Final exams are coming soon, so is my summer break

Yes, my final exams are coming soon.

In less than 2 weeks time, I will have the most intense 4 days of the semester.

On 2nd November, I have my Biology Paper.
On the 5th, I have Biotech.
I have Chemistry on the 6th.
And finally Statistical Reasoning on the 7th.

I know that the toughest paper for this semester is most likely gonna be the Chemistry paper, I should be putting more attention into that.

The Biology paper is a multiple choice paper which marks accounts for 40% of the total grade in the subject as compared to the other 3 subjects' 60% of the total grade. So, it shouldn't be hard to handle. But I'll still need to do well for it

Biotech has a mix of multiple choice and short answers. Needless to say, revising the tutorial questions should help a lot. It's useful to have this subject as studying it, along with Bio and sometimes Chem will help each other one way or another since there are some similarities in the things that are taught.

And statistics, a paper which I think is as tough as if not slightly easier the chemistry paper, which is not much. But it's math (sorta), and remembering the formula is key (or at least, the method of answering the questions since it is quite direct).

So once I get pass this 4 day gauntlet then I all set for a summer holiday. I do hope that I did not screw up any of my subjects. But when it's holiday, it's holiday, and I have some plans line up for the summer break.

I'm gonna get a 3DS. I could have gotten it earlier, but I fear it may interfere with me and my studies so I didn't get it so soon.
I'm gonna celebrate 2 decades of my existence on earth. Yes, I'm growing older now, but I still feel young so that is a good thing.
I've made a promise to take my Mauritian friend for a drive around town, and I have to keep my promise.
I'm also gonna visit my Singaporean friend, and stay there for a week or longer.

So, yeah. Now I just hope that I will prepare myself enough for the four papers that I'm about to face.

Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, and a brief history of my experience in Pokemon games

I've been a fan of Pokemon since the anime came out. But I've never played a Pokemon game from start to finish until I was 13-14. My first game was a Gen III Pokemon game called Pokemon Leaf Green, which is a remake of Pokemon Red and Blue of the first generation.

It was fun, but I was lacking in skills as a trainer. Everyone except Blastoise and Mr. Mime was severely underleveled, and Mr. Mime is overleveled.

Then I played Pokemon Emerald, it remains till today as one of my most frequently played Pokemon game as I played it with all three starters at least once, get all the silver symbols in battle frontier at least once, and also beat it in a Nuzlocke challenge at least once.

I also played Fire Red, and I beat Gary with a team that is 10 levels lower than him.

Then I played Platinum (yeah, I skipped Diamond and Pearl), and it was awesome (even though I never replay it till now). One of the most awesome moments I ever had in a video game came from Platinum. My friend was having a hard time catching Giratina, so he asked for my help. I recalled a walkthrough by Youtuber Marriland (an awesome guy who just finished his Pokemon White 2 Walkthrough) and initially had a strategy of using his Staraptor (due to his immunity to Ghost attacks), but for some reason I decided to lead with his Vaporeon at the last minute.

Turn 1, Giratina used Dragon Claw. Okay, decent damage, but Vaporeon could take a hit. I decided to weaken it with Ice Beam, and it got frozen.
Turn 2, throw a Dusk Ball, it broke free, still frozen.
Turn 3, weaken it with Aurora Beam, still frozen.
Turn 4-9, throw Dusk Ball, it broke free, still frozen (yeah, notice how long it got frozen?)
Turn 10, caught it with a Dusk Ball.

When we were catching Giratina, me and my friend were both surprised on how lucky it was to catch it so easily.

Then Generation V came. It was da bomb. Serperior was awesome, Excadrill was awesome too, Haxorus is badass as well. Yeah, I like some of the Pokemon design for the Gen V Pokemon. Deal with it, Poke-Nostalgiafags. It had a plot twist towards the end, which was pretty sweet, For the first time in Pokemon history, you do not defeat the champion to beat the main campaign.

Then we have 3 epic battles in a row. The first with the legendary on the cover.
The second with N, leader of Team Plasma (the bad guys), who has a LEGENDARY Pokemon and an EVENT ONLY Pokemon.
The final battle, with N's adoptive father, Ghetsis, oh that asshole of a father. Calling N a freak and his true intentions of (you guessed it) take over the world. He must have took some advice on raising dragon Pokemon from Lance as his Hydreigon is underleveled by 10 LEVELS. It's an intense battle, but defeating him is satisfying as hell.

Oh, and I played Soul Silver and beat both Lance and Red at their best with a team 3 Pokemon with their level at their early 60's and 3 HM Slaves.

Then N bids farewell, and cue the credits. This game has the BEST credit song in all Pokemon games so far. It's awesome sounding as hell. The credits is sleek, without animations or any pictures, just scrolling credits with an epic music, and I'm fine with that. I think there will never be a credit song as great as this one. Black and White is fun to play, with all new Pokemon to use.

Now, old Pokemon and new Pokemon meet in Black 2 and White 2 with the ability to catch previous gen's Pokemon. Also, this is the first time where a Pokemon title is a numbered sequel and not a remake. I can't wait to play challenge mode when I beat the game. Yes, you can adjust the difficulty setting in this game with some 'keys' that are can be traded via infrared.

Now that I'm a more experienced trainer, I always plan my team before I even play the game. Since I never used Oshawott before, so I use it in my playthrough of Black 2.
I got a male Oshawott, so I named it Kenshi (yeah, I like naming my Pokemon). I named it after the main character of Ruroni Kenshin.
The second Pokemon I got is a male Mareep I called Rossi (I also got a male Ampharos called Rossi in my Soul Silver playthrough). I caught it at Floccesy Ranch. I named it Rossi after the last syllable in Ampharos' name since it's a guy.
Then I got a male Growlithe in Virbank Complex. I named it Missile, after the Pomeranian in Ghost Trick (which is a great DS game by the way).
I got my fourth Pokemon at the Castelia Sewers. It's a female Zubat called Tabitha (I also got a female Crobat named Tabitha in my Soul Silver Playthrough). 'Bat' spelled backwards is 'Tab', and 'Bit' is a past tense of 'Bite', which is why I think the name suits the Zubat.
I got my fifth Pokemon at the Castelia Gardens (I think that's what it is called), it's an Eevee who is now an Espeon called Psynx. A psychic Pokemon that looks like a Lynx, so Psynx.

I do not have a sixth Pokemon yet, but I know what I will get - N's Zoroa. Yup, I'm doing this for N (lol).

Anyway, that's the end of this long post.

Got Green Day's New Album!

Yes, I've been a fan of Green Day for a while now.

It all started during the release of American Idiot. Then my Uncle (who lives in Australia and is an avid concert goer who loves alternative bands) found out that I like Green Day from my mom, and he bought me some of Green Day's older albums like Dookie, Nimrod, Insomniac and Warning, and I like their songs even more.

So this album is a trilogy, with and is the first of the three (which is pretty obvious as all the albums are titled after numbers.

What I've notice in this album is that now Jason White is part of the band! That's pretty awesome, considering that he's been with Green Day as a touring member back then, and also appeared in some of Green Day's music videos like 'When I Come Around', 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' and '21 Guns'.

The album is pretty expensive here in Malaysia (around RM 45 or 15 USD), but I found the album in a local bookstore which sold it cheaper by a few bucks and I could use the membership card to get a further 10% off. So I paid only RM 37.35 which is around 12 USD, almost the same price as the one sold in the US if I remember correctly.

Overall, the whole album is good, not great. But it's too early to tell how great is the trilogy gonna be as you need all 3 albums in order to piece out the story and concept behind the album.

Also, when I heard Billie Joe was in The Voice as a guest mentor, it was pretty awesome news to me since now I feel like The Voice could be the next singing competition US needs (American Idol was dead to me for long time, even before the realisation of the WGWG trend in winners).

Another thing I found out a while ago was Billie Joe's 'meltdown' at the iHeartRadio festival. I wouldn't consider it a breakdown. I think what he did was pretty awesome, even if people think that he's taking drugs or something. Of course he's pissed, and I think he has the right to be pissed.

Now for one last thing I found out. One of Green Day's track from the albums coming out soon will be in the soundtrack of Breaking Dawn Part 2. Seeing the word 'Green Day' and 'soundtrack' and 'Breaking Dawn' together made me die a little inside.

Anyway, that's all for now.

Obligatory rant on music

Yeah, you read the title, and this rant is long overdue.

It is true that many have consider mainstream music in recent years to.... you know, suck. This is still true after a few years later. Only difference is it's getting worse.

So yeah, this is a rant, and these are my opinions.

I dunno about you people around the world, but I think that most of the music being played on the mainstream media (ie radio and tv) are really crappy. I just dunno why. Every year I hope that mainstream music will get better next year and I just see it gets shittier than the stuff coming out of my ass from my most recent and rather horrible food poisoning incident.

The first question to ask about me is what kind of music do I listen to and what genre do I like the most?

I mostly listen to pop and rock and most things that the radio spews out but my favourite genre is punk rock and video game music (if that counts). I used to like a lot of songs the radio plays, but now I'm stuck with my video game tracks. With the exception of Gotye's 'Somebody that I used to know', nothing has really hit me as an awesome song in recent months.

Now listening to the radio makes me feel like Simon Cowell as I listen and criticize the song that is playing. Though, there are some songs that I truly can't stand, and they'll most likely be rated less than average in my rating scale of 1-10. So what type of songs are they?

  1. Songs with repetitive lyrics with the exclusion of dance-type songs. Songs like Grouplove's 'Tongue Tied' (I rate it 4/10), where most of the part of the songs are repeated lyrics.
  2. Anything to do with K-Pop. I don't understand what's the big fuss of the craze. So I do not rate any K-Pop songs, not that they're bad, I just don't. Only exception of this rule for now is Oppa Gangnam Style, a dance song which seems to be the latest craze and being the new 'Party Rock Anthem'. As catchy as it is, I still do not get it. It gets a 6 from me. This doesn't mean it's good since I can't and will not listen to K-Pop unless the mainstream english radio station forces me to, it's just slightly above average to me as a dance track.
  3. Anything that has an annoying tone to it, whether the singer sounds annoying, or the theme and lyrics of the song. Things like Nicki Minaj's song which I do not get why is it so popular, or the lyrics to Cher Lloyd's 'I want u back' (3/10) and her singing that annoys the shit out of me.
  4. Excessive autotune that is noticable. Like Lil' Wayne in his songs and mostly T-Pain. I know that autotune is a hell spawn of a device that can make a person with a shitastic voice to a person with a voice of a saint, and I know that some singers use it. Usually if I can't detect it then I won't be bugged by it, but if I do, it pisses me off.
  5. Any rapper who can't have a hit song without featuring someone else. It's not a major gripe of mine, but I feel like a rapper is a great rapper if he could at least have one hit song without having to collaborate with someone else. I know most rappers can't sing, but it's good to have one out there, just to show that they can rely on their own. Eminem's 'Without me' is a great song without any collaborations, and it gets an 8. I also liked Flo Rida's later hit 'Whistle'. Last time I thought he couldn't come up with a hit without collaborating, but I was wrong. This is a pretty good track (8/10).
  6. Not something common but still annoys me. I dunno how to explain this so I'll go straight to the example - Alexandra Stan's 'Mr Saxobeat'. So my local radio station played a song which is claimed to be the acoustic version of this mentioned song, I got appalled by it. The singing is exactly the same as the original, only changes being the background music and instruments used. This really pissed me off as it's as though no effort was put into singing this version of  the song, just changing the instruments. I gave it a shitty 2/10.
Anyways, rant over. If there's anything extra, I'll add on to my next music rant. But for now, let's just pray for good music.

Monday 24 September 2012

I have to get a 3DS soon.

So the Tokyo Game Show recently ended, and that made me wanna buy a Nintendo 3DS real badly.

I've wanted to buy a 3DS when it came out but I didn't buy it sooner because there weren't any games for the 3DS that I want to play then. A year plus has passed and there still isn't any game I want to play on it, but I still wanna buy it since I do not own a DS and I want to play DS games.

Yes, I've played the DS before through my friend's DS and I enjoy those games, but I never really owned one. I've played the all the Pokemon games in the DS, Advance Wars Dual Strike, Megaman ZX and ZX Advent (but I didn't like Advent), Professor Layton and Ace Attorney games.

So what games do I wanna play on the 3DS? Here's the list.

Fire Emblem: Awakening
I never liked Shadow Dragon. It's the art style they used in the game (which looks kinda weird to me compared to FE, FE:SS and FE:PoR. I liked the art style of Awakening so I plan to play it. I heard there's DLC characters and some of them looked awesome as hell. But I wonder of all the DLC characters why put Eirika's class a bride?! WHAT THE HELL MAN!! Other than that, I have no problems with the game as I see it.

Project X Zone
Oh yeah! Sega, Namco Bandai and Capcom. This game looks awesome as hell. Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Batsu, Alisa, Akira, Pai, Jin, Xiaoyu as a team of fighters! And Arthur the badass knight from Ghost and Goblins. X, Zero and Tron from Megaman! Dante! This game looks awesome! Now lets hope it gets an English release.

Prof. Layton 5 & 6
Aww Yeah! I love the Layton games. Cool puzzles. Some were interesting, some just troll the hell outta me. But I still love it. And there's gonna be 2 Layton games for the 3DS! Oh wait, there's another Layton game, and that is....

Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney
Oh yeah!!!!!! A crossover between 2 awesome games. Hershel Layton and Phoenix Wright and the witch trials. This game looks awesome. The 3D models are great! And there's gonna be voice acting for the cutscenes, which is a normal thing for the Layton games, but an awesome thing for the Ace Attorney games. Also, animation will be done by Bones, which are the guys that brought you the 2 Full Metal Alchemist anime, and the Cowboy Bebop movie, which is gonna be great! There's one more game left, and this game made me more hyped up than the all the mentioned games above, and that is.....

Ace Attorney 5
My god, the trailer looks awesome! Older Wright looks like a boss. I really hope this game will be great. Also, really hoping that they tie all the loose ends in this game like what happened to Apollo, Trucy, Maya, Ema, Edgeworth, Gumshoe and Kay (if possible). Guess what? This game is confirmed for an English release, which is freaking awesome.

So yeah..... I should get my 3DS by the end of this year. I dunno whether to get a second hand 3DS or get a 3DS XL since from what my friend told me the XL would be more comfortable to hold. I personally think that I should get a normal 3DS, and it would be better if I got it second hand. I don't see a point of a 3DS XL since the 3DS is suppose to be a hanheld console. making it bigger defeats the purpose of being a hanheld console. Being so big, will you be able to fit the 3DS XL in your pocket? I thought so.

Anyways, that's all for now.

Extremely tiring few days

Well, there's a few things that makes these few fays tiring.

My house is currently undergoing renovations by parts. They started with me and my sis' room. And now it's done. Finally, I can sleep in my own room after 2 months of sleeping in the living room.

However, that could also mean one more thing. The next phase of the renovation begins, which is my parent's room. And so, apart from moving stuff into my room, I have to help move stuff out of their room.

But wait, there's more.

It's also a coincidence that this week is one of the busier weeks I'm having at uni. With assignments due soon and me having a strong sense of scoring well for the paper, it's really tough to continue do the assignments, study, do other homework, while having your mom ask you to help her out cuz she thinks you're playing video games with your laptop, and do more other regular chores. Yeah, it is rather exhausting.

Oh, there's extra stuff.

My Chemistry lecturer has been absent for two classes last week - the same thing happened a few weeks back. Which means her class needs replacement. But unfortunately for me, her replacement classes are terrible. During the first time we had replacement classes it was during 6-7pm on Wednesday and Thursday, which sucked, especially the Wednesday one. I had no class from 1 to 6, what the fuck do you expect me to do for the whole 5 hours. Sure, I can study in the library (which I did then), but I still feel it's a huge waste of time to wait for her replacement class to start. I had no problem with the Thursday one since I finish at 6 so ending one hour later wasn't that bad.

With semester break coming next week, I really hoped she replaced it on a weekend or any day during the break. But no, she had to do the same thing she did last time, with Thursday's replacement tomorrow (20/9) and the Wednesday one after the semester break (3/10). What the hell man. This is just horrible to me.

But it's not like I have a choice do I? I know I could skip it, but I think I'm too much of a goody-two-shoes to skip it. Furthermore, its Chem, something I don't think I'm really good at (although my A Level results proved otherwise).

Anyways, that's all I have to say. I can't wait for semester break. Then I can..... wait for it........ Study!! Yeahh.... I don't have a life....

New Phone!

Yes, people. I finally have a legit smartphone!

For those who're wondering what's my previous phone, it's a Nokia X3-02, or this thing right here.
While it can use Facebook, Google, and all that stuff, I never really use those, which is why I don't consider it a smartphone. The sole reason I had this phone was because it was slim. I like slim phones as they don't take so much space in my pocket, and I have some room for keys and other stuff in the same pocket.

I've been using this phone for almost 2 years now, and I don't see myself changing phones anytime soon, unitl I started university.

I noticed that a lot of things could be done with more convenience with a smartphone like checking for a last minute sent email by a lecturer saying that class is canceled and some other stuff. But I have not thought of what smartphone to get for me. In fact, I was having a dilemma on deciding whether to get a smartphone, a tablet, a new laptop, or a Nintendo 3DS (the 3DS was my gadget of choice, cuz of the games I wanted to get once the games are released).

In the end, I got a Huawei Ascend P1 last Thursday, or this:

So you must be thinking 'Wow, Sun. You're such a hipster! Apple, Samsung (even Blackberry) and some cases, HTC are too mainstream for you that you settled for a smartphone from this unknown brand called Huawei!'

Well...... no. I'm not a hipster. But yes, why did I settle for this phone?

My dad has this friend, whose family is quite close to ours (of all his school friends). This friend works in a PR firm (google that if you dunno what it means). So, one of his clients is a Chinese networking and telecommunication equipment company called Huawei, which has launched their own line of phones in recent years.

Last Thursday was the unveiling of the Huawei Ascend P1 in Malaysia. It was sold at a discounted price of RM999, 300 bucks cheaper than the original retail price of RM1299. My dad's friend was there as he was in charge of PR. He asked us whether we wanted one. My mom suggested to get one for me. I refused at first. But my mom's gonna buy it anyway as a standby phone in case someone's phone is not working.

My mom asked me to try using it. In the end, I tried it, and it was alright, which means I'll be using it from now. It's as slim as my previous phone, which is good. Like I mentioned, I like slim phones. Other extra features are alright, but I won't be using them as often as others. So yeah, that's my phone.

By the way, many assume that if any electronic device made by a Chinese company will be really low quality as there is a stereotypical view of the Chinese being great at copying the look of the real phone but with a functionality that is so horrible. This phone however, isn't those phones that people expect it to be. So do be aware of that. Not all electronic device made by Chinese companies are sub-par.

Anyways, that is all.

Annoying traffic congestion

So.. yesterday,

I finished my class at 6 p.m. And I had to drive home after that. Our class ended later than usual, so my expectation was that I will reach home later. Usually I reach home an hour or so later due to the traffic. My expectation for that day was that I reach home 1 hour+ later, just a few minutes later than my usual time.

How wrong I was.

I made a mistake by turning in to the shop lots. While the distance traveled is shorter (around 400-500 meters before reaching the highway) compared to another alternative that I could have taken that day, there were multiple intersections. There was a severe bottleneck effect (many lanes from other intersections squeezing into one lane) before reaching the exit to the highway, and I was driving at such a slow pace that the time taken for me to walk the whole distance was 5-6 times faster than the time taken for driving at that moment - I took half an hour to drive past that area.

That whole experience made me rage.

I normally do not go into an enraged state when I get caught in a jam. Sometimes, these jams are unavoidable because all major towns and cities in Malaysia, cars are everywhere. If a family has 4 members and 3 of them could drive, it's most likely that the number of cars they own is greater or equal than 'n - 1', where 'n' is the number of family member who can drive. Heck, my family has 3 cars - we have 3 people who can drive.

Back to the main story. While I don't normally rage when stuck in a jam, it did happen before once prior to this second rage story. It was when I was in college, and I had to drive to college that day. Unfortunately for me, there was this thing called 'Federal Territories Day' in Kuala Lumpur, and there were rehearsals the wee hours of the morning. Only thing is that morning, the rehearsal ended later than usual, which coincide with the working/going to school crowd.

I was stuck, everyone is. I could even put my car on 'P' gear and it would be fine. I was trapped long enough to drive me to a rage. I just had to release my anger I guess. I was late for class- as expected, by almost an hour. But I wasn't the latest though. My friend was later than me. All in all, I did not want to experience something like that again, but I did.

Flash forward to yesterday, I was so pissed. I realise I made a mistake using that route but it's too late. I kept knocking my head at the headrest. People who saw me could see I was trying to lighten up the stress and annoyance they're facing. Then when I got closer to a smooth journey, F-bombs were released. The closer I was, the more were dropped.

Craploads of swearing below. I you can't strong language, then try to. What I'm gonna type might be hilarious to some.

The reason why there was a bottleneck was other cars from other lanes going to other roads were jumping queue. I do admit that I do that once a while, but that mostly occurs when I'm not familiar with the road and realise that I'm in the wrong lane and therefore have to cut in in order to go to where I wanna go. But those sunovafucks! I shouted Fuck anytime I see anyone driving like a douche. I called those who cut my lane a 'Fucking Fuck', because calling them a 'Fucker' is not enough since those Fucks are a fucking piece of fuck. Of course I yelled all this with my car windows winded up, cuz if one of those fucks have their windows winded down and heard what I have to fucking say about what they fucking did I'll be fucked since I'm stuck in a jam and I can't fucking escape.

Yeah, I swore so much that I could make Eminem's dirtiest song sound like a nursery rhyme. But this pissed and raged part of me only exist temporarily. As the moment I got off the car, I was back to normal.

In the end, it took me half an hour longer to reach home. I was fucking exhausted. I haven't eaten anything in 6+ hours. And I really was sick of driving for the night.

Moral of the story: Learn more ways to go home, so you won't be pissed if one can't be used. Also, pick the best one for the situation. I knew 3 main roads back with multiple ways to enter the 3 main roads. But I picked the wrong one, and I got stuck.

A lot of Assignments

Wow,
I have so many assignments and stuff to do that at one point, I have 10 things pending to be completed.
It's not because I'm procrastinating or anything, but I do get a lot of tasks.
For this semester, I take 4 subjects (or units as they call it in my uni) - Bio, Chem, Biotech, and Stats.
Lets get a rundown on what I have to do as of today:
1. For Biology,
-I have a weekly online quiz due tomorrow night, yet do be done
-A biology lab report due on Monday evening (done halfway yesterday, could be completed soon)
-An essay on Cholera due 3 weeks from now (I just started doing it today, finishing the introduction)
2. For Chemistry,
-An online quiz due on 3rd September. Can be done anytime, just that I'm not doing it, yet.
-I need to study for a Tutorial Quiz on this Tuesday. I heard it's either open book, or discussions between classmates are allowed. Either way, no worries for me (I hope).
3. For Biotechnology,
-A tutorial quiz to study for, but it's multiple choice, so I think I can do it.
-An assignment/essay regarding Stem Cells due 2 weeks from now.
-Designing an A3 poster talking about a product made from Biotechnology due somewhere in October.
4 And finally for Statistics,
-I have a group assignment due 2 weeks from now (we have completed some parts of it).

I'm not complaining or anything, or saying my life sucks because of this. It's more of a self-realisation that I'm in university, and if I procrastinating, piles of assignments will appear in front of me.

But do I think I'm procrastinating? Maybe a little bit, but not entirely. Some of the stuff listed there are a weekly thing, so it could be counted as 'homework' as if I was in secondary/high school and are usually completed by me during the weekdays. And the quizzes on the list can be counted as a 'Pop Quiz' or a 'small test', depending on whether it's done in class or online, I'll prepare myself for it, someway or another.

As for the long term assignments, those are the pain in the ass. I'm never really a fan of assignments like these, mostly because I need to find someone's work as an example to give me a rough guide on how to do it. No, I'm not intending on plagiarising people's work, I just want to know the format of the task given to me. But this doesn't always happen in uni, so I have to depend on my own most of the time.

A thing I hate about these assignments is that I constantly worry that I break the uni's law on plagiarism, and they're very strict about it. And I sometimes worry whether I cite the sources correctly in the form of the Harvard Style Citation of Reference. All that aside, I don't really mind doing these assignments.

Right now, I think I'm at this point where I could only choose 2 of 3 things. And I've chosen the same thing as I did in college - and that is Having Enough Sleep, and Good Grades/Good At Studies. Yeah, I think I have to neglect Social Life again, not that I have one.

I have a good 7 hours of sleep on weekdays, and 8-9 on weekends, and that makes me a happy guy. And I'm already stressed about assignments, which are only due 2 weeks from now. A normal person would be thinking I'm kinda insane to be worrying so soon. But those are just mere fools. Worrying later and goofing off now will cost both my sleep and grades in the near future as future me will rush it at the last minute.

Social Life? Who needs it. I'm a science student after all. The only social interaction with people other than my family that I have is either with my uni mates during classes or breaks, and sometimes on the phone discussion on assignments, and the regular chat with some friends on Facebook. No going out or watching movies unless I'm really free or there's a movie I wanna watch.

So until then, I'll be staying in 1 of 2 places - my house or my university. My god, I sound like a boring guy
